The Monkey and the Fishermen

The Monkey and the Fishermen
It was a usual day. A monkey sat on a tree and watched fishermen catching fishes from the river. He saw two fishermen throwing their nets into the river. This action of the fishermen kindled monkey's interest. One day as midday reached, the men left their nets on the river bank and went for lunch.

As soon the fishermen left, the monkey being inquisitive came down from the tree and picked up the net. He tried to throw the net into the river, as he had seen the fishermen doing. But alas he was not successful, because the net got tangled and he was caught in the net.

He spoke aloud and said that he has learnt lessons that it is wise not to do others work.

Unnecessary stress

Unnecessary stress
In a relationship you need two things: trust and communication.
If you have neither, then you don't have a relationship.
You have a project that just creates unnecessary stress.

Self hypnosis promises the most as a mediatation tool

Self hypnosis promises the most as a meditation tool!
Meditation is considered as one of the best ways to reduce stress, lower your blood pressure and increase longevity. While there are several ways to use meditation as a relaxation method, self-hypnosis gives you the additional benefit of temporary behavior modification. Contrary to what you might imagine, self-hypnosis is a very simple procedure that you can learn very quickly and only requires a few days of practice to master. This is what you do in a few easy steps:

Select a comfortable position like sitting, lying down, etc, away from all distractions for at least 10 minutes.

Close your eyes and concentrate on relaxing your entire body from one end to the other.

Start at your feet, feel your toes and feet relaxing, keep repeating rhythmically to yourself the words "relax, relax" as a mantra as you feel a warm tingling sensation in each muscle in your body. Whatever happens just relax, anything you do is a plus, we are not looking for perfection, each time you do this it gets easier. Feel your feet totally relaxed, keep your thoughts focused on relaxing the part of the body you’re working on. Experience the calming down effect of letting go of all tension.

Travel up to your legs concentrating in your principal muscles, ankles, calves, knees, thighs, hamstrings, torso, abdominals, your chest, back, hands, arms, head and face. Feel pleasure as each part of your body is rid of tension. Undergo the transformation from tightness to looseness.

When you reach your chest pay particular attention toward your breathe, making sure to take deep breathes, inhaling and exhaling to a totally relaxing pace. Let go of all tensions feel the tightness disappearing from your back and shoulders, come into contact with the feeling of relaxation in each part of your body as your travel through it. Include your face muscles and your neck, following a sequence to include the entire body.

After covering all your main body parts independently go around your body a second time now at a faster pace while concentrating in larger portions of your body feeling your entire feet and legs completely relaxed. Feel the gentle warmth traveling your entire body, keep your thoughts in this sensation, still repeating to yourself to relax. As you approach your chest area go through the breathing cycle.

Once you accomplish a state of deep relaxation where your thoughts are away from your usual routine and into your body you may select to give yourself a suggestion at this point. You are in a very susceptible state, you may repeat to yourself: I will come out of my self-hypnotic state full of energy ready to do my project X with enthusiasm. Or you may say to yourself: whenever I experience anger I will feel love and trust for myself or others and I will react with compassion. I will have a strong desire to forgive myself and others. Repeat these or other suggestions several times during your hypnotic condition. Do not attempt to make multiple suggestions in the same session.

Try it now, do it today, you will see instant results; just don’t expect miracles only improvements. Develop a routine to meditate once or twice a day. Remember, the more you do it the easier it becomes. In a few weeks you will be able to relax under the worst types of conditions and very quickly. Meditation as part of a strategy to take care of your emotional health and well-being can add decades to your life and will greatly improve your ability to relax and concentrate. Additionally, self-hypnosis in particular will take advantage of the power of suggestion in practically any area of your life where you can use a little help.

Paradise

Paradise
Just could this be paradise ,right here where you are?
Nirvana within you not somewhere afar?
Tho' some would decry it and say it can't be
just follow along if you long to be free.

Your life's what you make it -
your choices each day the thoughts that you harbor
and words that you say determine the status
of your life today.

So if you want more than you think you have now
watch closely your mindset and you'll find out how
Just live in the present.
Think only the best about yourself first
and then all the rest of your brothers and sisters -
you'll find that you're blest and really in paradise.

It's all in your mind.
Whatever you look for is just what you'll find.

Iceberg

Icebergs
An iceberg is a good analogy of our character and personality. The tip of the iceberg is what is seen first by other people; our personality. The part that lies underneath the water is our character, which lays unseen and hidden. Our personality is our image, techniques and skills that influence our outward success, but our true success will come from the goodness of our character that lies beneath the surface.

To calm the hunger

To calm the hunger
If you want to calm the hunger of a man for a day, give him a fish.
If you want to calm his hunger for life, teach him how to fish.

Is it Good to get early

Is it Good to get early
Mullah’s father was a good and hard working merchant. Mullah was happy to go to Madrasa; the schools were he used to go to study. He was a lazy boy and wanted to sleep for longer times. Hence for him to get up early was a difficult job. His father’s ambition was to make Mullah a learned man. He looked for opportunities to educate Mullah and started to give advice on why one should get up early.

Mullah’s father had a habit of going to early morning walks. He liked the morning scene where the birds used to sing. One day he saw a bird attack a small worm on the ground. As the grounds in the morning time are cool and moist, the bird was able to get the worm. Hence the early bird got all the worms that were visible on the ground.

Suddenly this thought touched the Mullah’s father and he thought with this he could educate his son. While he was returning to his house he found a bag lying in the middle. He picked it up and was surprised to see gold coins in the bag. Being an honest man he looked all round for the owner, as he did not see anybody in the early hour, he picked up the bag and rushed to his house. Now he had two stories to tell his son, the importance of getting up early.

When he reached home, he saw that Mullah was still sleeping. He went near to him and shook him up to tell about the incidents. But Mullah did not listen and went to sleep again. Unable to wake him up, his father poured some water over Mullah’s head and face.

Mullah immediately woke up and started to ask his father what was the urgency to wake him up. His father responded and told him that he would like to share his bounty to him. The father told his son how the birds that made cheerful noise and started to collect worms for their food. Also he told about the bag of gold coins he found in the path. The father explained since he got up early he was able to get all these things and how important it was to get up early as you might have a chance to collect worms and find a treasure.

But Mullah had a different reasons for the both the incidents. He logically told his father that when the worms got up early, he was eaten by a bird. Similarly the man who got up early lost his bag of gold coins. Poor man must be crying somewhere. Hence according to Mullah getting up will bring trouble. The father was aghast to note how his son interpreted his logic and was able to convince him, which he could not refuse.

The story tells us that what is good for others, cannot be good for us

Multi color pendant necklace

I apologize for a late entry. I feel that I should post my entry of Friday today and share it with my fellow bloggers. I attempted to do a rose, but was not successful and hence made it as a pendant. Knitted an I-cord and looped it through the pendant.
I have kept the cords unties so that later they can be added to a necklace thread

WIP 2 multi colored sweater

While browsing you - tube , I just got stuck to this pattern. It is called as Raspberry stitch. There are 3 variations to it, but basically the purl and knit stitches are same. The pattern has an embossed effect. Immediately I just remembered Heidi of Heidi Bears as she just adores these sort of stitches. I liked her picot edging pattern.Sharing the same , I just have started and a long way to go .

Eat More to weigh less

Eat more to weigh less
If you want to lose weight permanently, eating several small meals throughout the day to help you with this. Try to eat a small meal consisting of protein, fat, and complex carbohydrate. An example would be; for breakfast 1 hard boiled egg, and an orange, at 10am have a can of tuna on toast, for lunch a Chicken breast and any vegetable, at 2 pm have a protein shake, for dinner a chicken breast and vegetable, in the evening have some celery and peanut butter. You get the idea. Avoid sugar, bread, pasta, salt, but not fat.

The Story of a Tigress

The Story of a Tigress

It was not long ago that Bodhisattva was once again born as a scholar. He became an ascetic and had mastered all the scriptures. Hence he had a number of followers and Ajita was a disciple. As they were walking in the forest, Bodhisattva saw a hungry tigress. The tigress was so hungry that she was going to eat her own cubs. This act of the tigress moved Bodhisattva and he decided to offer, himself as food to the tigress. He also knew that his disciple will not allow him, hence he requested Ajita to go to their cottage and get some food. As soon Ajita left, Bodhisattva stood in front of the Tigress. The Tigress being hungry tore the Bodhisattva into pieces, and along with her cubs had a great feast. When Akita returned with food, he was shocked to see his master’s blood stained clothes lying aside, and cried his heart out. He was shocked and moved. He returned to his quarters and started to narrate how his master sacrificed his life due to compassion. From that day onwards Ajita started to live a life with full of compassion and charity.
