An important treaty in those days was the Magna Carta . It was on 15 th of June King John of England signed the Magna Carta in 1215 at Runnymede, England.This was the first step that is considered as the first charter of English liberties and laid basis for the American democratic thought. Hence on thid day people celebrate it as Magna Carta Day
