Multi color pendant necklace

I apologize for a late entry. I feel that I should post my entry of Friday today and share it with my fellow bloggers. I attempted to do a rose, but was not successful and hence made it as a pendant. Knitted an I-cord and looped it through the pendant.

I have kept the cords unties so that later they can be added to a necklace thread

Celtic heart necklace

Some time back while browsing you tube, I touched upon this new type of creations that are done using draw cords or strings. I liked the Celtic heart knot. Immediately I took my French knitter and some green yarn and knitted to a length of 65 cms. With the help of the video I created the Celtic knot and my celltic heart necklace is ready. It does not require any embellishments and can look great by itself.

Manga - Mango necklace

In South India the mango necklace is part of jewellary that every house has. Hence with the help of some embelishments have created this mango necklace. First I stringed the pieces into a plastic wire and knitted along with the yarn. After knitting the first row - shifted the stitches to a 10 size double pointed needles and knitted ithe necklace on a round. Hence you can see the finish is lit bit neat.

3 petal necklace

This is one of my creations. I did this and gave it as a gift to my sisters friend. Asked her to adorn this on her Varalakshmi goddess image.I feel that the petals some what look like mangal sutra.

Kunguman- manjal haram [vermilion-termeric necklace]

Aaadi vanthachu Ammannuku oru nal. Today is first Friday of aadi and I dedicate this haram[necklace] to the Goddess in all forms. During the days betwen July 15th to August 15th it is a very special occassion for hindus in Tamilnadu. All the Amman temples gets renovated and there is festivity lasting for 3 days.The festival starts with paal kudam [milk pot] and ends on the 3 rd day with fire walk.People keep fast and walk on fire.This month kick starts for the other festival that will follow

PS: I leave the ends loose so that the necklace can be decorated on any god's idol or image

Pattern:

Cast on 1 st

kfb - 2 sts

knit all even rows

K1, kfb - 3 sts

K1,kfb,k1 - 4 sts

K1,kfb,k1,k1 - 5 sts

knit as garter stitch for 8 rows [ get 4 ridges]

Next row knit 1,k1,make a bobble ,k1,k1

Repeat these 2 rows as per your desired length

Then start reducing

k1,k2tog,k1,k1 - 4 sts

knit even rows

k1,k2tog,k1 - 3 sts

k1,k2tog - 2 sts

k2tog

bind off.

The length of my haram is 32 cms.Since the bobble did not come as per my requirements, I did bobble separately and then stitched it on to the necklace. I turned the piece to give a v-shape in the center.

Ganesh pendant necklace

Hello Freinds - presenting my new necklace which has a Ganesha pendant. I created with just an i-cord, centre piece and ganesha idol.Please feel free to pour your suggestions.

Necklace with a center chocker

Hi friends I have created another variety of a necklace. It is for your review. Please do post your suggestions and approvals.

1.Created an i-cord with yellow yarn

Sudha's Ganesha Necklace

Hi Friends,

This necklace  was knitted for my friend Sudha who is in Baharain. I gifted to her to adorn her Lord GANESHA idol.
The pattern of this necklace

Materials:
Any color left over wool
Necklace string
Embelishments
Size 6 knitting needles

Method:
Cast on 1 stitch
knit the next row
Increase one stitch - 2 sts
knit the next row
increase one st in every st - 4 sts
knit the next row
increase one st in the first and last st - 6 sts
knit the next row
knit all rows - garter stitch for one meter
then decrease 2 sts at the first and last st - 4 sts
knit the next row
decrease 2 sts - 2 sts
knit the next row
decrese 1 sts - 1 st left - cut yarn and pull throw one stitch. Leave enough yarn as it will be required to attatch to the necklace string.

Now braid the one meter length as per below picture

Attach the below necklace cord [picture below] to the braid

Now paste the below embelishments to the braid

Now the necklace is ready after stitcging the cord to the ends of the brais and with the help of fevicol fabric glue paste the embelishments on to the braid. Now you have a very beautiful necklace

Ambal Necklaces

These are my original creations. This was during navarathri to adorn the idols that are kept in the golu. Done in garter stitch
Materials : any left over yarns
Needles. 8 or 4 mm needles
Embellishments as per your choice
For the Band:
Cast on 80 stictches
Row 1 -10 garter stitch [ every row knit]

For the center diamond
Cast on 1 st.
R1 - kfb of st - 2 sts
R2- knit entire row
R3 - kfb of sts - 4 sts
R4 - knit entire row
R5 - kfb of sts - 8 sts
R6 - knit entire row
R7 - kfb of sts - 16 sts
R8- knit entire row
R9 - k2tog - 8 sts
R10 - knit entire row
R11 - k2tog - 4 sts
R12 - knit entire row
R13 - k2tog - 2 sts
R14- knit entire row
R15- k2tog

R15 - knit

Bind off

Stitch the diamond to the center of the band
Add embellishments as per your choice

A necklace is ready
