The pattern for this flower is from Rhonda K.White from Knitting nonsense. It is very simple to do and does not involve too many rows. It can be used as a brooch also.
Materials needed:
size 3 or 11 mm needles
Yarn : any left over yarns in any color for the rose and green color for the leaves
Flower:
Cast on 100 stitches
Knit across rows 1, 3, and 5
Purl across rows 2, 4, and 6
Row 7 : knit 2 tog across [50 sts]
Bind off - leaving yarn sufficient to stitch
Leaves:
Cast on 24 stitches
Knit across 1, 3, 5, and 7
Purl across 2, 4, 6, and 8
Row 9 : knit 2 tog across [ 12 sts remain]
Row 10: knit across
Row 11: knit 2 tog across [ 6 sts remain]
Bind of leaving yarn sufficient to stitch
Making the Rose
Roll the flower part into a small tube and then keep rolling the entire stretch of fabric till you get the desired flower shape. Sew from tail onwards so the the petals are kept intact. It would look like real flowers.
Place the leaf and stitch in the rose flower. shape as desired. Use either a magnet, glue or a pin. You can use this flower as you broach or an embellishm,ent for a pouch/purse
